I wouldn't say I'm hooked but there's definitely some potential there. They've taken the basic premise of the movie, reoriented it to give the viewer the perspective of both the humans and the hosts and sprinkled in a light dose of "The Dark Tower" with the man in black seeking "a deeper layer to the game".
