As the storm approached, the SEC and both athletic directors agreed to play the game Saturday at 4 instead of noon. That was the Gators ONLY option the Gators presented. Long story short, Gainesville then became in the hurricane path model and the game was cancelled.


Florida, on Thursday, cancelled the game and any chances to play the game in Gainesville or any other location Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. Even Georgia and South Carolina agreed to play their game Sunday evening. Florida would not make such an agreement.


So yeah nothing stupid about it. It was pretty clear from the beginning. Why would LSU give up a home game when they gave Florida every chance imaginable to play the game the weekend it was scheduled?

 

Florida is actually kind of in a win win with this the more I thought about it. 

 

They finish out the season in Baton Rouge then Tallahassee on the road. I'm sure nobody expects them to win either one, but their schedule leading up to those two games (including UGA) is pretty soft, so being as that they're #15 now if they could manage to win out they'd battle Bama for the title and prob have somewhat of a chance to make it into the playoffs.

 

That's all crazy talk, but the more important thing is that they get LSU at home the next two years when they are probably hoping to be more of a contender. Win win.
