I get what you are saying, but unfortunately it's not how it works. Like I said, LSU gave Florida every opportunity to play the game the weekend as originally scheduled... including playing in Gainesville a day or two later.


Even AFTER the hurricane passed, things get more complicated because LSU still offered Florida two options to play he game IN Gainesville. First, LSU offered to play the game during their Oct. 29 bye, the week before they played Alabama. They wanted Florida and Georgia to play their game a week earlier during their bye. By doing this, every game gets played AND at the location as originally scheduled. That option was shot down. The second option was to move the SEC Championsip back a week and play the game on Dec 3 IN Gainesville. Once again, same matchup and same location. That option was shut down.


Floridas only contingency plan was to force LSU to give up one of their home games to play the game. So after all the ways LSU gave Florida to play the game in Gainesville, Florida wanted LSU to give up a home game, deny their fans a chance to come to an originally scheduled game, lose all the money that comes with a home game, deny recruits a chance to visit, and deny the community battling back from devastating floods and police shootings a home game as well?? Yeah, not a chance. No doubt, Florida was scared to play the game. They get what they deserved.
