I'd say so far it seems like there are more returns, but I'm too lazy to look it up this early in the season. 5 yards is a lot to sacrifice by kicking the ball out of bounds when you know damn well your kicker can kick it high and in between the 1 and 5 yard line.


I just hope there doesn't come a time where someone gets hurt bad or worse on a kickoff where a coach was trying to avoid giving up that 5 yards. If the NFL really wants to cater to player safety, they'll get rid of the play all together and unfortunately a lot of players will lose their jobs because of it.
