This isn't rocket science.


 

The "industries" serve individuals. "Industry" does not pay the price of government regulation, the customers do. 
Some like Clay Electric are even customer-owned cooperatives. Obama's trip generated more CO2 than a typical customer of the "industry" generates in a lifetime.


 

If it was just a matter of telling people to cut back on energy usage then it would just be
hypocrisy. Instead he used the guns of government to force the peons to do what he wouldn't. He passed a law that by it's requirements will result in those customers paying much higher electric rates.
