Again, I think Caldwell has picked well, but also kind of expect it to happen picking near the top of the draft his entire tenure, so I don't think he should be placed on a pedestal or anything.  

 

Also, being the next man up after Gene Smith, it isn't really hard to look good.

Caldwell should in no way be put on a pedistle, but he also shouldn't be viewed as the problem. Khan has said this is a process and as an owner seems to have wanted to show the whole NFL he wants to be respected as an organization that won't make rash decisions. We don't want to be the Browns and fire a coach 1-1 1/2 years into his tenure when there is a lack of talent and that's just too short of time.


There's plenty of these teams picking high that aren't getting the talent level we are. So that has to be taken into account too.
