AP: Jaguars owner Khan speaks to team, seeks answers

#88

Quote:Khan is clueless. If he was truly was serious about fixing things, he would've talked to the players separately from the coaches. Rarely will people call out their coach in a crowded room, in which the coach is in attendance. Ideally, he should be holding private one on one meetings with the players. I bet a lot more things would have gotten "aired out" if it was handled this way. Personally, I believe Gus is safe until the end of the season. Something tells me we eak out a win over Tennessee in a low scoring game and it will buy Gus enough time until the end of the season. I know this is not what everyone wants to hear, but it's what I believe will happen.
I think so too for the highlighted part. But I disagree about Khan being clueless.

What he is doing, although painful, is honestly in the long run for the best. When we start looking at coaching candidates this off season, we are going to be a prime location with our talent and patient owner. Good coaches want to know that they will be given time to fix stuff. And Khan doesn't operate like other owners (i.e. the Browns) firing people left and right over a fluke bad year.

I think we will get a real big time candidate this time around. And while that does nothing for this year, it does make me excited for next (I know, the Jaguar curse, always next year).

I personally hope Gus can turn it around, cause I like him. But this whole season is proving, especially with all the penalties and Blake's regression, that he really doesn't have what it takes (if there was any doubt from last season). But since Khan was patient with a historically bad coach, if you are a good coach, and a high-profile candidate, Jax will be first on your list.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster
