Nothing wrong with that at all.

 

Seems like a "getting a feel for the room" type of deal, and I've seen that work many, many times.

 

What you do with it, is the key, of course.

 

One guy I worked for brought all of the departments together and asked them the problems.  One grop spoke up and had a real attitude about it, towards him.  

 

He fired that whole department, on the spot.  It took us months to get things back, but it was worth it.  Different deal, an NFL team, to be sure.
