I can see your point.  I just disagree.  These guys are lucky enough to compete weekly for glory.  Maybe that sounds cheesey, but man.  When you play a game that you grew up playing, a game you know you won't be playing much longer, there is no other high than trying to win.

 

These guys aren't like NBA or MLB players than have hundreds of games in them.  They have 16 games a year for hopefully 5 years.  Every game, every crowd, every potential glory is a sweet taste of succulent glory that most of of only have a brief drop of.  Don't think that 99% of them don't know that.

 

The Tom Brady's and Belicheats of the world that just give spam "coach speak" are the rare dead souls.  The crazy Suhs and Dez's are more similar to the reality of how these guys really feel.

 

That's why we all love Gus Bradley.  It appears that this dude gets it.  He even got MJD to want it.  MJD, a so called "grizzled vet" has mentioned he wants to potentially come back to the jags.  There's buy in, it's a business.  But it's still a game.  A game that these dudes grew up loving.  Those folks that can make them remember that love are the ones that build a franchise and a championship.

 

It's really just that simple.  It's that simple because its a game.  And we can all identify with that.
