Why the Jaguars need to give Gus a few more years
|
Quote:As one of those long time posters who advocated patience, I stand by the logic, even if the end results were not there. The way I see it you have to judge coaches on three things. Player growth under their tutelage, scheme fit, and game preparation. The way I see it Gus failed to show any ability in all three. We've seen little or no significant growth in players under him. Players that couldn't cover still can't cover, mediocre run stoppers like Cyprien are still mediocre run stoppers, etc. He's so attached to his specific scheme that he would rather keep Myles Jack off the field than to adjust to his players. I don't know that he's ever gotten the team prepared to beat any team the Jaguars have played. All of their wins seem to come against teams they either have significantly more talent than, or teams that had quit on their coach when the Jaguars played them. |
