I'd be ecstatic if we hired Coughlin.  Who cares that he coached the Jaguars in the past?  Look at his track record.  Maybe there is a younger coach out there who could come in and turn this team around quickly, but how much confidence do you have that we would discover the next great coach who will be unproven when we hire him?  If you just compared coach A, B, C, etc. without their names and looked at their performance, he'd be as good as any hire in my opinion.

 

Lots of people mention how they want a coach with experience who is a proven winner.  Cowher and Gruden come up often.  Well, Coughlin is in the same category as them and unlike them he actually has a desire to coach again.  He also seems to coach best when given a challenge and when everyone is counting him out.  The Jaguars sure seem like a challenge that would be a great fit for him.
