Even I know the two facets directly affect each other. A quality QB forces teams to chouse whether or not to stack the box and blitz. If the passing game is no threat, you're going to face regular 8-9 man fronts. Conversely, if you can't run for crap (like us right now), you're going to see what we see now until the QB can make them pay for crowding the LoS. I don't think the two are mutually exclusive.
