Distinct possibility this is the last time we'll see MJD in a Jags uniform at home on Sunday

Quote:Mojo is not Kobe...  Any time you listen to him talk you can tell he's not that type of Ego.  "Jones-Drew" is even a recognition of his own history and background.  To think that he doesn't understand his position and how his own time-line based on a RB's career seems a bit cynical.

I have no doubt that if the Jaguars offered a respectable deal and provided him the opportunity to sustain his achievements with the team while being a mentor, MoJo would jump at it.

The main factor remains the new direction of this team.  This isn't the Jack Del Rio era of throwing junk at the wall and hoping something will stick.  This isn't the Gene Smith era of having a direction but no real direction.

Maybe I'm pushing my own hopes onto what we've seen these last 7 weeks.  I can admit that I'm drinking the teal-aide.  But this feels different that it's ever felt for a very long time.  And I think MJD may feel the same thing.

As an aging RB that only has a few years of great football left, I can see him staying here and making a true push.  I don't know how many other real options he has to get with a contender.  Most real contenders already have a younger RB in their fold or have such a heavy pass game that MJD will be nothing more than an afterthought.  This team is still needing his services.  Plus, he's still young enough to not only contribute, but wise enough to help mentor the offense and the RB squad.

It's really a perfect match.  And I think MJD is smart enough to see that.  The only doubt I have is that he might have a mid-life crises and forget all the idealism/faith of his youth.

So you think he's "not that kind of ego" when he chose number 32 because 32 teams passed on him and he wears a Superman shirt under his jersey? OK................
