Walking Dead - Just finished Season 1 -- quick questions (also Breaking Bad question)

OK..... just finished Walking Dead Season 1 ---- the CDC just blew up and they are on their way to a new location.
Question 1 : Are Seasons 2-7 more of the same but just adding/deleting characters and storylines while killing zombies or are the twists worth continuing. Question 2: Would you recommend switching over to Breaking Bad --- I never watched this show but it seems to get more favorable reviews when comparing to The Walking Dead.
