I trust our guys will watch the tape and determine whether this QB is worthy of getting a chance.  If they deem so, and the price isn't too high (again, something for our FO to determine), then we might take a shot at him.

 

Can someone please post modern examples of this happening? Only one I can think of is Brett Favre and his problem was not skill but rather he was immature and lack of care. It wasnt until Mike Holmgren kicked him into shape did he start to take the game seriously. 

 

I saw someone list Drew Brees but he was not a backup, he was a free agent coming off a devastating shoulder injury and San Diego did not resign him because they believed he would not be the same after the injury. Brees was never traded, SD decided to draft RIvers and move on. That move backfired as we see now, but back then people thought Brees was done.

I agree Kirk Cousins is better than Matt Flynn but the point of my post was not directed towards comparing the two skill wise but rather the situation they are in. 

 

That situation being; Backup Qb who has few great games and some team signs him to huge contract in offseason only for him to turn into a bust.
