It's not his vision and it's not his offense.  I'm not sure why you don't understand this.  It's the OC's offense. GMs don't hire a coach only to meddle in their scheme.  And many head coach's take a similar approach with their coordinators. 

 

Dave hired Gus.  

 

Gus hired the OC.

 

OC said - "I don't use a FB." 

 

Gus let's Dave know they won't be using a FB. 

 

It's really just that simple.  You are convoluting a very simple process to suit some weak blame game.
