And im pretty sure a trade would screw up their cap, but a cut before june 1st(?) would save them a lot and is doable. But i could be wrong on this someone can fact check this.

 

  The way you described the June 1st situation is the way it used to be.  I'm not sure if that's the case still,  as the salary cap rules have changed significantly this decade. 

 

  Though I don't think Tony Romo is worth a 2nd Round pick,  desperate times sometimes lead to desperate measures.   The 49ers and Jets organizations don't remind anyone of the Patriots, Steelers,  Packers,  or Ravens organizations.    A quick fix wouldn't be shocking,  at least on this end.
