It's been but his reluctance to step up into the pocket is very alarming   -   and for whatever reason he's just been unlucky when choosing his "escape route" several times this season, but that's not really on him unless he's just already held the ball way too long when he takes off. Which has also happened a number of times:/

 

Not giving up on him yet, but I hope to see legit competition for him in June/July. 

 

Agreed, I'm all for competition but these people ready to move on after this season need to realize what we had at QB before Blake. Besides Garrard it's been terrible. Look around at a lot of teams around the league who have had high picks and failed at getting "the guy".

 

Blake has shown too much to give up on him.

 

As for stepping up in pocket I agree, but one play jumps out at me from yesterday was when Beachum got beat on a play and Bortles spun away and saved Beachum from giving up a sack. Was a hell of a play. He definitely recognizes pressure pretty well. I mean it's not like everytime there's pressure the QB is going to see it, not even the best of the best are flawless in that area.

Can't fix his problem in season man. It's not going to be til the offseason where he can try and iron out these mechanics problems out.
