It was always my understanding that, when the called is made or moments before, if the call is somewhat vague then it should be ruled in favor of the team already in possession of the ball.
The ball follows the hand across the goal line and doesn't seem to deviate from the same trajectory or move until after crossing it. This is why ratings are down. There's no consequences for missing the call, and the NFL has shown a consistent pattern favoring the better teams. |
