Simple answer: no.

I think teams do and only should bet the house, trade-up, and give away valuable later round picks, for the once-in-a-lifetime prospects than you know only come around ever so often. As Washington did with RG3(which is still yet to be seen if that was right or not). But like say for example that Jaguars could somehow make a trade this year to ensure they were the first pick next year, knowing they would nab the very rare talent that is Jameis Winston. Now that might make sense. But I don't think many teams will be overreaching for Teddy. If he's there, they'll certainly get him, but trading-up probably not.

And that's because Teddy's a good qb, 2nd best on my big board, and with the right assembled cast around him a possible franchise guy in the NFL for a long time. But if the Jaguars didn't trade up for the likes of Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, or RG3 any other these previous draft-years, I don't see why we'd trade up now for a guy like Teddy, who most if not all would agree is good, but not on the level of those 3 when they came out.

 

I have a strange feeling though that if Texans don't absolutely fall in love with Bridgewater, that he might still be on the board by the time it gets around to us.
