Had I know you needed a head count, I would have taken an informal poll, or maybe gather empirical data for you. My point is when I talk to them, they tell me who they support, and why. It's usually not a retweet response, but reasoned. Some I agreed with, some I didn't. One student in particular stood out, very informed on the issues, and made a good case for Trump. Of the kids I've met and talked to, the percentage who could discuss the issues seemed to be similar to the adults I know.

 

I mentioned the Bible Belt because the 18 year old daughter of my good friend refused to vote for Hillary for two reasons. One is an Old Testament prohibition on women leaders, a stance on which I'll not discuss further, the other because of Clinton's stance on 2nd Amendment rights. And this was not just a knee jerk "she's gonna take our guns", she quoted verbatim what was on the Clinton campaign web site, and why she disagreed.

 

What's your experience, and not knowing you any better than you know me, what assurance can you give me that your view of their political acumen isn't influenced by your beliefs?

 

Let face it, rj, you have about as much experience with teenagers as most people.

 

Smart [BLEEP] comment aside, I don't care for a head count; I'm trying to point out that many of them probably shared your opinion and that it probably influenced why you thought they were intelligent. I'm sure my views influenced how I see them too, but let's not kid ourselves and pretend that teenagers are not generally naive and often form opinions based on emotion.
