That said, a lot of QBs wouldn't play as well as Dak even with all of that surrounding them so I'm not trying to discount anything he has accomplished. I think it's just a case where no amount of homework, over simplification, or over complication, can predict the success of a QB. A lot of it is so mental you would need some sort of device to look into a QB's head and see if they had "it". Since you can't do that, you're really just throwing darts at a wall hoping one will hit. The QBs that are taken in the first round are just the ones with all the best "tools" to succeed. At the end of the day, you have to be able to play the position competently and that is hard to know until they actually play in the NFL.
