Obviously, whoever decided on Bortles, with that early pick, missed some important deal-killing flaws. Now, in retrospect, those flaws are killing us. They're easy to see now, aren't they? Why weren't they discovered before we picked him? I bet that other teams noticed them.

Do we want that same talent evaluator to make another QB pick? I don't think so.

The younger Khan apparently has created statistical models to evaluate thousands of variables that influence the outcome of football games. Analyzing QB's, those who have been successful as well as those who have failed, could uncover the key elements that predict, with a high level of probability, the success or failure of a prospect.

In my earlier career I was heavily involved in creating credit scoring models which accurately predicted the likelihood that a borrower will pay back a loan. The process is identical for predicting success or failure at the QB position.
