3 points there, the defense had nothing to do with it. They stopped the Ravens from advancing.


That's happened quite a few times this season. Heck, the KC game was almost nothing but possessions starting in FG range. Defense holds in 3 downs,, KC nails 3 points.

 

 

That's not what happened.  Tucker's game winning 53 yard field goal came after Baltimore blocked Myers 52 yard field goal and moved the ball down the field killing most of what was left on the clock before Tucker, one of the best kickers in the league, nailed the 53 yarder.  They ended up getting 22 yards on the drive as they started on their 43 yard line.  Also, Blake took a 9 yard sack right before our blocked FG attempt, the one thing he absolutely couldn't do in that situation.

 

We then had just over a minute left after Tucker hit his FG to get ourselves back into FG range for what would be a FG attempt to win.  Blake essentially sacked himself on 2nd down by running out of bounds 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage instead of throwing the ball away.  That and an offensive holding call on 3rd down ensured we wouldn't get another first down and the game was over.
