The Jags are projected to have $65M in cap space/$80M if they cut odrick JT & House

#43

One other thing counting against Odrick is going to be the "hopefully" emergence of Day and Bennett this offseason.  Both of them would provide young, cheap, talented play along the D-line, and with Odrick not really being much of a  playmaker, it could make him even more expendable.  Between Odrick and Jackson you'd have upwards of $20M tied up in the DT position, which also happens to be very deep in the draft.

If the Jags are prudent and set aside some of the cap room to re-sign Smith, A-Rob, Lee, Linder, Cyprien (maybe), that $80 M would go away a lot faster than you think.

And as much as I think Alualu was overdraft, he's always healthy, not too expensive, and plays solid.  He's not a playmaker by any means, but he does provide veteran depth for a young team.
