Article: Conservative agenda aims to kill science in United States
|
Quote:Oh good you found "one of the good ones". Let me know when the rest of the scientific community gets on board. Continue to interpret things all you want. That's the best part about science. Science doesn't care what you think. Did you even read the freakin link? There's a post "to be or not to be a climate heretic" or something to that effect that talked about three scientists, two of who believed climate is changing but disagreed on the scope and influence of man. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with "experts". Healthy discourse and dissent should be encouraged. As the article said, experts believed the food pyramid. They believed we were in a global cooling. They've told us eggs are bad for you, then good for you, then bad for you, then good for you. They're finding now that unsaturated fat and cholesterol are actually not the devil like we though twenty years ago. Experts believed the earth was flat. I can go on and on. There's actually been information that's come out that many peer reviewed articles are often faulty with flaws and can't be replicated. Just because you're an "expert" doesn't mean you can't be wrong. Nor because you're not a professor at MIT doesn't mean you can take a reasonable look at the data and arrive at different conclusions. |
