It's not up to him to decide he should get paid at a higher level than he has performed. if it worked that way, every player would be getting the biggest contract in the league every time they sign.
 

 

What I'm saying is that if he wants to be paid a lot more than what we're offering, he's not going to sign the extension anyway. We'd likely have to slap the franchise tag on him and he'll have to prove to us that he's back to his 2015 form, before getting the type of money he wants. I don't look for us to extend him this year, because I think there will be a major difference between what we will offer and what he wants. Between his lack of production this year and poor attitude, I think we'll be far apart on contract talks, so don't count on an extension for him.
