Therefore would no longer have been 'illegal touching'. Yeah it's not the lack of discipline type of penalty which can be effectively minimized with proper coaching and planning. As much as face masks and the like move the ball up the field for the opponent significantly at 15 yards a pop, it's still a guy trying to make a play on defense or in this case special teams and it is truly an accident. The jumping off sides, false starts, late hits and the like (discipline related) are the ones that tell you something is wrong with the coaching and the ones you should really be worried about. |
