USA Today Article about Jags' Defense
|
We can talk all we want about how this defense isn't really the 4th best defense in the NFL, and that is a valid point, but the fact remains, it is the 4th ranked defense statistically. We are giving up the 4th fewest yards per game, and the 5th fewest yards per play. That is a fact.
Yes, we have deficiencies. We don't get pressure on the passer, hence we don't get turnovers. But it is still notable that at 2-11, with an offense that cannot control the ball, and with an anemic pass rush, we are still have the 4th ranked defense (statistically) in the NFL. Something good is happening. It's something that makes the head coaching job here very attractive. If I were a prospective head coach, I would say the Jags have a lot of pieces of the puzzle in place. This is not a massive rebuilding job. |
