While he might not be as exciting as a fresh offensive mind such as Haley/McDaniels/Shanahan, Smith is proven as a HC is pretty solid all round.


From what I remember of him he has very little time for bull and holds a high standard. Pretty much gotten results everywhere he has been in. In Atlanta he didn't fix himself to any one style of play. They were a power running team and a high volume passing team during his years there. His downfall was he actually decided to change from his favoured 4-3 to a Mike Nolan ran 3-4 in order to get more of a pass rush. It failed but he at least tried something new. Also his special teams units were top 10 every year he was in Atlanta.


Currently doing great work with a young Bucs defense very similar to ours. He would be a very good signing as a HC for me, I'd trust him to get us back on track more than anyone else.
