Asperger's syndrome, epilepsy, and other disorders
|
This is the problem with going to games: In addition to not being able to drive, I can't even ride a bus either for safety reasons. One of them is Asperger's syndrome. Another is having a cerebellum that is too small for my brain size. Balance, which is controlled in this area, therefore is not good enough for me to ride buses. It also would force me to get a front-row seat on the bottom level if someone else did not go to a game with me because I need a banister on stairs. In Italy, it was hard to walk on cobblestone streets and sidewalks because they are not flat. I don't need any type of walking aid or wheelchair, so no special assistance can be provided. Ninety minutes is too far for my mom to drive because she has 3 grandchildren to take care of who just turned 11 and 5 and would get home too late after a 1:00 game. So I have no transportation options and can't get to my stadium seat for medical reasons.
When I tell people who live in "driving distance" they should go to games I am specifically targeting fans who say they don't want to go because we suck and have no other reasons to stay home. People who already have tickets should go to games, not sell them. Obviously they have no problem getting to the stadium because they bought tickets. If you say you can't get to that game because of a scheduling conflict, that is one thing. But telling me you don't want to waste money on game tickets because we suck is a totally different animal. Those are the fans I am getting at when I say staying home is a big mistake. |
