I'd probably go with Haley over McDaniels but its really just a personal thing as something about McDaniels rubs me the wrong way. Both are brilliant minds but with personality flaws. Haley doesn't talk about Kansas much because he ended up so paranoid he thought his office was bugged hh hires ups. Had a ton of clashes with players too with the Chiefs and Steelers.


Thing about Mike Smith is he knows Xs and Os very well. One of the biggest strengths of his Atlanta teams is that they always had great gameplans and did a ton of scoring in the first and second quarters. According to Falcons fans Smith just never changed from the initial gameplan.

 

That's the thing that worries me about him. Not needing to change your game plan because you're beating down other teams with your high powered offense is fine and dandy, but when you play against good teams and especially when you're playing them in the playoffs, you need to be able to do so. Obviously everyone here would take routine trips to the playoffs, but we also want to win it all. Could Mike Smith end up leading us to a championship? Sure, because as I said he's not a bad coach, and perhaps he will know how adjust in game the second time around, but I don't want to look back at the era and say what could have been.
