Another very important stat that happens on the other side of ball. Jaguars Offensive points scored per game 18.5 also ranks 27th in the league.


Just saying...when defense allows more points than offense can score not a good thing. When both of these stat lines of a team are ranked 6th to the last in the league also not a good thing.

 

26 points per game is a total team stat, not a defensive stat.   It includes every pick 6, every punt return TD, everything. 

 

That's why total yards and yards per play are a much better indicator of how a defense is playing.  

 

I'm not arguing that we are the 5th BEST defense in the league.  I'm simply pointing out that we are the 5th RANKED defense in the league, statistically.   

 

 I'm not defending the coaching staff.   I have no agenda, other than perhaps pointing out that this should be a pretty attractive job for head coaching candidates, and defensive coordinator candidates.
