Gus firing is inevitable, replacement already decided?
|
Gus will be fired, we all know that at this point. I have to go on record to say that as a life long Jaguar fan, I have never been more disappointed in a season than this one. I am equally disappointed in Shad Khan for not acting quicker in his decision making. At this point, Gus Bradley will go down as one of the worst coaches of all time, statistically, this is backed up. Im not one of those fans to grab torch and pitch fork and demand things go my way, but I also am a firm believe in action not words. Shad Khan is an excellent businessman and its true, the team has become a bigger name under him. But the hierarchy of this team is excellent on selling snake oil to get fannies in the seats. Every offseason its the same old thing. Tune up the stadium, market the hell out of the team, get a top pick, buy some big named FA acquisitions then we all drum to the tune of this is our year. Its clear this franchise is profits first product later. At some point though, when is enough a enough? Khans gotten everything he has ever wanted and hes turning a profit every year. Hell, he took a game away from all of the season ticket holders to profit overseas. At some point though, the fans are going to get tired, no matter how much profit London is getting you, the fans are frankly sick of it. I have never been so disinterested in football in my entire life. Since I was a child, I have been a die hard fan, but over the years, its become exhausting, the air is out of the balloon and frankly, tomorrow, Manchester City vs Arsenal is first priority over the Jaguars. Khans got the off the field down pact, now its time to focus on the actual product on the field. When do the fans get to be happy? We have got to be one of the most miserable franchises in the NFL. I really hope things turn around and its time the other owner stops counting the profits and maybe actually steps in and focuses on the team.
It starts with the head coach and we need a home run hire. I actually am buying this Coughlin stuff. I think theres teeth to it. If theres one thing that this team is missing is leadership and discipline. Under Gus, we are a mess. He isnt a leader, hes a one of the players essentially. Hes one of the hommies, theres no accountability, leadership or discipline. Its a me first show off type of attitude and on game day it shows. Stupid penalties left and right. Personal fouls, jumping offsides when we are getting the ball back, getting into fights, ejections. Its a mess. The team is the most fouled team in the NFL , theres no discipline. Its just "o well we will try harder next time". Under Bellichick, do you think that crap would be allowed? No, no matter who you are your butt would be benched or cut for personal fouls, showing up late to practice, jumping offsides, getting into fights. Under Tom Coughlin, this stuff wouldn't fly. Coughlin is a good head coach who personifies professionalism , leadership and discipline. We dont need the head coach being one of the players, the players need to hate him than learn to respect him because hes tough. The players will learn to respect him when the results start flying in. People want to hang around winners. The Mike Smith rumor is interesting because it makes a ton of sense. Hes actually a pretty decent coach and would probably be a solid hire. But yes, it wouldn't be a move the needle type of move. But I do like that move if it does happen. Im definitely not on board with another young and upcoming coach. We need to win and win now. Theres talent on this roster, it just needs to be used correctly. |
