I like Lewis, and I think he is a pretty good TE and can be very good when everything around him including QB is working well. He is surely a red zone threat....and a favorite it would seem of Henne here lately.


That being said, I don't even think he is a top 5 TE and shouldn't be paid like one. He's got to restructure his contract or go. Whether we have the room or not is secondary to the fact that he isn't performing consistently like a top 5 TE and shouldn't be paid more than he is worth. He's older.


I'd be surprised if Caldwell keeps him. Although, knowing he knows more than I do, I wouldn't complain about it. He could be a good outlet for a young QB. We've seen him make plays. He's a very good blocker as well.
