Yes, Peyton's one injury was very scary. The upside of Peyton was INFINITELY higher than Romo or any other QB not named Brady.


The problem with your argument is that its a complete fallacy. It's not "Romo or nothing". There are better options out there than Romo. Garrapolo showed promise, Matt Moore showed some promise, etc.


Yes, I want REAL competition to be brought it. I don't yet know where that comes from. I know it's not Romo, though. Romo has talent, but he's incredibly fragile. It's been that way his whole career. I just can't put my chips behind a guy who is more likely than not to be injured and fail to finish the season.

No one insinuated Romo was in the same class as Peyton, but to talk about Romo not getting it done in dec/jan when Peyton is infamous for being that exact guy is just a poor argument to make.


And no there really arent better options than Romo from a pure playing standpoint. Garropolo is an average game manager playing on the best franchise in football, I have no idea what this boards obsession with that guy is. Matt Moore is a journeyman, Glennon is a career backup, Nick Foles is garbage, etc etc. None of these guys are better players than Romo. None of these guys have shown any play indicating they could hold a candle in the playoffs, none of these guys have shown any indication they could ever win a superbowl. Theyre just guys better than our bottom 5 bust qb but theyre nothing worthwhile even attempting to plan for. And if youre not looking for a guy that has a chance to compete against real teams then im not sure exactly what youre in this all for.


Its like the idea of risk/reward is completely lost around here. Idk about you but id like to win right now, the culture of this team is so damaged that we pretty much need to win now or we risk entering browns territory where guys leave as quick as they can. Romo is the only guy that can do that, so you RISK what you feel is fair for the potential REWARD of a quarterback that is actually cut out for the NFL.
