The only reason Caldwell said Marrone would be considered is because he is considering everyone. Caldwell wouldn't fire Gus in week 15 if he had his eyes on Marrone. He is looking elsewhere.

And while this is true.  To let a guy go who had the exact same team as gus.  Who hardly could score.  And blow out both by 17 or more points.  And knock both out of the playoffs providing houston keeps winning.   Would state he had the team behind him (leadership)  Bortles can be saved or serviceable (play calling)   and (right personal)  and bring back excitement to Jacksonville (ticket sales)  

 

For all we know.  Maybe they wanted to see if it is in fact Gus lost team or we just that bad.    

 

But yea,  If we blow out both.  I would be on board with the hire.  The popular vote don't matter.  Righting the ship does.
