Interesting quote from Malik Jackson on Gus Bradley firing

Quote:I don't buy into the injury theory as much as some others. His mechanics have been getting better since that week he flew in what's-his-face.

I also agree with Jagwired that the more concerning thing in year 3 is the locking into coverage, not progressing through reads, and not locating open guys. That has nothing to do with mechanics or injury and we've seen very little improvement in that area, if any.

If it was just a matter of he's throwing badly because of an arm injury, I'd feel a lot better about his prospects.
That's great if his mechanics improved, but if his shoulder is hurt that isn't going to help him throwing the ball.

Ultimately, until next year none of us will know and we shouldn't base what we do this offseason on it. Find a serious #2 guy that can take over if he doesn't get it turned around. But none of us know how the shoulder injury affected him this year/if he gets healthy will things change? We'll just have to wait and see.
