I was interested to see how things would go without Gus, but not 'stupidly excited'. I would also suggest that win or lose, it doesn't validate Marrone automatically. It took a whole lot of losing football to validate that Gus wasn't the right guy here, and it will take a whole lot of winning to prove Marrone... or any other coach for that matter, is positively the 'right guy'.

 

That's part of the reason why I'm leaning toward TC as the best pick for the head coach job here. Of the candidates I'm aware of, he's the only one with a winning record as a head coach! All the other former head coach candidates have acquired more loses than wins in there careers to date.
