No, it's a mis-quote from Dave's press conference.   He was asked about hiring a new coach, and whether he could hire someone he didn't have a previous relationship with, and he said, he did that with Gus. He had no previous relationship with Gus.

Then someone posted on this message board that he was asked if he would hire someone he didn't feel comfortable with, and that Dave had said, he did it with Gus.

But that wasn't the question.   The question was, would he have any hesitation to hire someone he didn't have a previous relationship with. Not, would he hire someone he was not comfortable with.
