it shows that what she said to her dad was true even though he didn't believe her since he never got the note, at what other times does she lie to the five she tells the story to?  She even eventually tells the same story to the parents in the hotel.  And she did come back with her eyesight?  was she unreliably blind early on? No everyone knew her as the blind girl.


 
I think it's all up to the viewer to interpret the show how they see it. No matter what anyone says it's not going to make sense.
