There are no franchise QBs on the market.
The obvious answer is to sign someone who would be a backup but could come in and start if Bortles can't get back to form. Would Tyrod Taylor be comfortable in that role? If so, I agree with others here that he's the best option. One other name to consider is Ryan Fitzpatrick. He served in that role and successfully took over for Geno Smith. This year he didn't play very well, but that may be because he missed all of training camp when the Jets low-balled him. IMO, trading for Garoppolo is a mistake. When has a New England backup to Brady succeeded elsewhere? "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" |
