Also, the only thing even close to tying Russia to any of it is the small snippet of PHP code from <a class="bbc_url" href='https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2016/12/russia-malware-ip-hack/'>commonly found wordpress malware that has been freely downloadable by the public for years</a>.  It's pretty much outdated malware.  The original malware was apparently authored in the Ukraine which is next to Russia.  Though the link that I provide is a blog, it's far more detailed and is from a reputable source.
