A good GM focuses on talent and then lets the coaches develop a scheme based on the personnel. David's [BAD WORD REMOVED] backward way of doing things is to limit the pool of players that he thinks can play this mythical scheme he's dreamed up and pick the best of that bunch. 

 

A. Seattle South was Gus's idea

B. The Zone, both running and defensive, was Gus's idea.

C. If you really think that GMs don't chase the type of players the coach wants for his scheme then I think you missed the boat in your assessment.

D. We've discussed Smith and Knighton at length and neither was playing here the next year. You don't get to force FAs to play for what you want to pay them.

E. This roster has plenty of talent, Doug Marrone turned out perfectly acceptable performances the last two weeks on short notice. Whoever the next coach is, he's getting a young and talented roster.
