Iran descended into chaos and eventually terrorism mainly over religion as well as the opposition to western values and ideals. The opposition didn't like the fact that the Shah monarchy had strong ties with the west (US and UK among others). It was basically their revolution. Under the Ayatollah they went to strict sharia law and executed and/or imprisoned people that didn't comply. That isn't happening here. Syrians and Sudanese aren't fleeing persecution? |
