I am not opposed to vetting and never have been. I am opposed to treating people like criminals before you know their name or story. The rhetoric has not changed. The majority of these people are just looking for acceptance and a chance for a new start. America is more xenophobic today than I ever remember it having been before.


As to reasonable vetting, thousands of Syrian refugees have legally come here. They were vetted. Zero incidents. Now we need extreme vetting because.. there may be ISIS infiltrators? We need to cut the number of people coming from there because of what? If we submit to as extreme vetting of these people as Trump wants, can we triple the number we let in? Why not? We will know without question they are who they say they are.
