This guy is picking up a lot of steam as a top 5 draft pick, and if he goes in the top 5 it will most likely be us taking him. Scouts, NFL.com, and CBS Sports all have him as a top 3-5 player in this draft now, and the praise on him is nearly universal. As a prospect he is a lot like Jonathan Allen in terms of being a tweener that will likely play on the outside on run downs and move inside for pass downs. Allen is bigger though, so he could play 4-3 DT straight up. Thomas appears to be far more explosive though. My comparison for him is Michael Bennett. He would be an instant upgrade on the DL for us. Allen and he are really 1a and 1b for our picks for my money right now, Coughlin will probably love them both and see a clear role for them on the team.

 

Also, David Shaw is predicting him to blow up the combine, saying he will measure in at 6'3'' 270-275 and run in the high 4.5s and VJ near 40. If he does that at that size density and posts a good 3 cone/SS take him yesterday.
