I think what you're doing is taking the most extreme positions on the left and tarring everyone left of center, even the 90% of people left of center who don't agree with that extreme position. It's the same thing as leftists calling people on the right "Nazis."


The statement you quoted exhibits an astounding lack of self-awareness. Because whoever said that is doing the exact same thing he is accusing other people of doing.


"The left is justifying violence." No, a few people on the extreme left are justifying violence.

"People on the right are Nazis." No, a few people on the extreme right are Nazis.


Someone needs to throw a flag on some of these statements and say, "15 yard penalty for intentional polarization."

While I can agree with what your saying about blanket narratives, it is fair to say the events of the last two weeks and the unwavering support of political and standout figures on the left don't paint an all encompassing picture? I have not read or heard even the slightest of contemplation of withdrawal from anyone or any group left of center. So your saying this is just a highly vocal minority? Whether it is or isn't, ownership is implied, just like the left would subject the right to. Part of the pain of labels. Should there be a sliding scale? The thing is, it would appear that the "racist, bigoted, self indulgent right" is actually trying to push forward for America regardless of the speed bumps and label darts from the left. Political posturing versus action. I'll take identification with action for the greater good anyday. Feel free to toss labels as they will be forgotten when the left squeaking wheel falls off.
