Congress is made up of two houses. The House of Representatives is supposed to be the voice of the people. The Senate is supposed to represent the States. I find it offensive and improper for a member of the House being in the CBC because that member isn't representing me, that member is representing black people. The same could be said regarding a member of the Senate belonging to the CBC. That member is only representing black people within the state rather than representing the state overall.

They don't represent only black people fool. Youre one of the same idiots who thinks HBCUs need to be removed because they don't serve whites - which is a lie by the way. Or that BET or BLACK HISTORY MONTH are racist. Just shut up.



AIMS OF CBC


The caucus describes its goals as "positively influencing the course of events pertinent to African-Americans and others of similar experience and situation", and "achieving greater equity for persons of African descent in the design and content of domestic and international programs and services."


The CBC encapsulates these goals in the following priorities: closing the achievement and opportunity gaps in education, assuring quality health care for every American, focusing on employment and economic security, ensuring justice for all, retirement security for all Americans, increasing welfare funds, and increasing equity in foreign policy.[5]
