I've been wanting to post in this thread for a while now but haven't gotten the time. I'm glad it's still active.

I'm 42 and I honest-to-God thought that I would "slow down" by this point but no luck so far. I just did a complete career change due to a re-org at my old position so I'm learning not only the new language at the job but an entirely different way of thinking. The reason I think that's important is that I get told on an almost weekly basis about my "sense of urgency". Which to me, is a nice way of saying "you're hyper".

While my waistband has expanded and I need to be a bit more careful about what I do I still go a thousand miles an hour through my day and hit the gym at least five times a week. I still play with legos, I still watch animated shows, I stay up late, I get up early, I have never seen a person that I won't talk to and I love going out.

I'm waiting, honestly and sincerely waiting for this motor of mine to die down just a bit. But, live fast, die old, leave one hell of a handsome corpse. Right? So while my perspective on a lot of things have changed (read as: the "coldness of youth" has died down quite a bit with me) I'm still me. The same, rambunctious, wild, always counted on to say the wrong thing, me.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
